I’m Jacob

The person behind the lens

As an award winning Hoi An wedding photographer, it's always a pleasure capturing weddings in this amazing ancient city.

Hoi An Ancient Town is an exceptionally well-preserved Asian Trading Port dating from the 15th to the 19th century that it has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status.

A melting pot of indigenous and foreign cultures, Hoi An Ancient town has distinctive timber framed buildings with moss covered roofs, architectural monuments, cultural relics, religious pagoda’ s and family cult houses all of which make great backdrops in my images. And beyond, the vast rice fields stretch out as far as the eye can see.

As a Hoi An wedding photographer It’s important that I capture relaxed, genuine emotion and my documentary wedding photography style allows me to focus on emotion-filled, candid moments. I want to tell the story of your wedding in Hoi An and capture the moments you might have missed on the day. Think of me as a ‘guest with a camera’. Blending in with your friends and family helps me to photograph genuine, emotional moments, the love between you as a couple and the love and support of your family and friends in a natural and authentic way.

With miles of stunning coastline with breathtakingly beautiful beaches in a lush green tropical climate, it won’t surprise you to learn that Hoi An has some simply awe-inspiring wedding venues.

Epic Portraits

Named one of the top wedding photographers in Australasia by Capture Magazine

My creativity and unique, bold style have earned me international recognition as an Award Winning Wedding Photographer. Making the most of the epic scenery I have access to as Hoi An wedding photographer, I love creating stunning portraits with couples in vibrant landscapes. Prestigious awards are humbling to receive, but knowing I’ve created something incredible for the couples I work with is the most important measure of success for me.

“…Superb service and the photos turned out amazing, better than we could have hoped for. We would definitely recommend Jacob as your go to Hoi An wedding photographer and we have already recommended him to our friends.”

Claire and Zach

There are lots of reasons why couples choose to have engagement and pre-wedding photography. Firstly, they are a great way for you to meet your photographer before your wedding day and secondly you get some amazing images of you both together. These photoshoots are always heaps of fun. Especially if you choose somewhere that has meaning like the place where you had your first date, a favourite cafe/bar or your favourite place to visit on the weekend.

After dark Hoi An’s charming streets are lit with lanterns creating a magical vibe that will seduce you into never wanting to leave.

The thing I love best about weddings in Hoi An is that you can use local flowers, cuisine, musicians and tailors to create your perfect authentic Hoi An wedding and those lanterns make the dreamiest backdrop for romantic wedding portraits. Can you think of a better location for a romantic wedding in Vietnam?

As a long-term resident of Vietnam, I also frequently capture engagement and pre wedding photography in Hoi An. Drawn to its beautiful landscape and vibrant streets, it makes an utterly photogenic and fun location for a romantic engagement photoshoot in Vietnam as well as the perfect location for a romantic mini break.

It won’t surprise you to learn that Hoi An has some simply stunning wedding venues. As an experienced Hoi An wedding photographer, I have established a working relationship with each of them. Here are three of my favourites.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An

Do you fancy getting married under a beautiful floral arch on one of the world’s best beaches? If so, you should definitely take a look at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An. The wedding team there pride themselves on creating beautiful weddings that incorporate Vietnamese flavour, colour and traditions. Like the receiving the bride ritual of floating across a lotus-dotted lagoon in a flower strewn basket boat.

Add to that a villa sanctuary, sleek seaside pools, fragrant tropical gardens and stunning architecture and you have everything you need for an unforgettable wedding and honeymoon in Vietnam.

When I capture weddings at the Four Seasons Resort Nam Hai, I love how photogenic the location is. Lantern lit trees create a fairy-tale beach front vibe perfect for romantic sunset images of my couples.

Anantara Hoi An Resort

For a stunning wedding in a boutique luxury hotel situated in lush gardens fronting to Thu Bon River, then you need to take a look at Anantara Hoi An Resort. They offer a choice of beautiful wedding spaces both indoors and out to make your wedding in Vietnam exceptional.

You can choose to say ‘I do’ on the banks of the Thu Bon on their riverside terrace and indoor dining area. Enjoy an outdoor wedding reception in their beautiful poolside landscaped gardens with terrace adorned with blooming flowers. And then party the night away in their intimate and elegant ballroom (it has capacity for 80 guests) and has a stage that is ideal for speeches, toasts and live entertainment.

When I documenting weddings at Anantara Hoi An Resort, I love it when my couples enjoy a romantic sunset cruise on the Thu Bon River, floating candles, lit lanterns, ancient architecture and a spectacular landscape all add up to create a hopelessly romantic and photogenic setting for a wedding adventure.

Palm Garden Resort Hoi An

Another fantastic Hoi An wedding venue is the five-star beach front Palm Garden Resort.

Gently at one with nature, this beautiful beach front luxury resort has stunning tropical gardens, a pretty wooden bridge surrounded by palm trees and a beautiful green lawn that surrounds the pool and stretches right out to the beach. Accommodation and facilities are a clever blend of old and new architecture to bring you every modern comfort in a charming and quintessentially Vietnamese setting.

For weddings they offer brides and grooms accommodation in one of their luxury bungalows and a themed western outdoor ceremony where you say ‘I do’ under an elegant floral wedding arch in front of the ocean. Add to that traditional music, and entertainment and delicious local cuisine served outdoors on beautifully dressed tables adorned with candles and fresh flowers and you have everything you need for a beautiful and unforgettable wedding in Hoi An.

So, if you’re planning your wedding in Hoi An right now, or are still entertaining the idea of a Hoi An wedding then I hope this has been helpful to you.

Have fun planning your wedding in Vietnam and when you’ve found that perfect wedding venue in Hoi An, you’ll be looking for an experienced Hoi An wedding photographer. Feel free to get in touch.
