Mandoon Estate Wedding

Weddings at Mandoon Estate take place in some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Swan Valley. This historic venue gives me the perfect opportunity as your Mandoon Estate Wedding Photographer to capture award winning images of your day, framed by beautiful scenery.

The History

Mandoon Estate is a stunning historic venue located in Caversham, Swan Valley. There has been a settlement on the property since the 1840s.

When the Estate was established by the Ecreg family in 2008, huge importance was placed on preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the property. The family have also demonstrated the potential of the Swan Valley as a wine producing region, with the winery becoming Australia’s most awarded boutique winery between 2012-2017.

Your day can begin with preparation in the luxurious on-site accommodation, ‘The Colony’. Built here in 2017, The Colony has 32 well-appointed bedrooms overlooking the vines. Wedding ceremonies are set between the beautifully manicured lawns, with the river to one side and the historic family property to the other. The textures of the woodland next to the lush green grass and brick pathways are a dreamy backdrop for a Mandoon Estate Wedding Photographer to capture your day.

Rustic barrels from the Estate’s prestigious, boutique wine-producing history are placed between walkways and wooden arches hold floral arrangements and frame your ceremony. Exploring the grounds as a wedding photographer at Mandoon Estate is a real treat; the long wooden staircase is the perfect location for portraits.

The architecture here compliments the landscape; drinks receptions can be held on the deck overlooking the river, or in the purpose-built function centre with floor to ceiling glass and uninterrupted views of the valley.

The Landscape

The vineyards of Western Australia are some of my favourite places to photograph weddings and Mandoon Estate is no exception. When the region was explored in 1827 by Captain James Stirling, he is reported to have written in his diary about the unrivalled beauty of the Swan Valley.

“The richness of the soil, the bright foliage of the shrubs, the majesty of the surrounding trees, the abrupt and red coloured banks of the River occasionally seen, and the view of the blue summits of the mountains from which we were not far distant, made the scenery around this spot as beautiful as any thing or kind I had ever witnessed”

My Style and Approach

My style and approach to Mandoon Estate Wedding Photography makes the most of the fantastic scenery, gardens and architecture. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your wedding, celebrating with your guests while I capture the emotion of the day as a skilled documentary wedding photographer.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I tell the story of your day with beautiful, timeless, storytelling images.  I don’t keep stopping your wedding to get you to line up for contrived images, I capture your day naturally as it unfolds. Authentic and candid images that convey the emotion and joy of the day.  You and your guests will barely notice me at your wedding as I move around as unobtrusively as possible telling the story of your wedding with candid unposed images.

Documentary wedding photography done properly is very emotive.  My images won’t only remind of how you looked, they will instantly transport you back to precisely how you felt in each and every moment.  I capture all the big moments you expect and the tiny moments in-between like the nervous groom waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle, like a secret tender smile between a bride and groom as they first glimpse one another, or the expression on the face of a grandparent embracing the bride.  Beautiful and timeless images that you will treasure for a lifetime.  And, I will of course, make you all look fabulous!

There will also be time to capture some epic portraits in the Mandoon Estate Vineyards as we explore the secret pathways towards the river and between the vines.
