Margaret River Wedding Photographer
One of the best things about being a wedding photographer based in Western Australia is being able to regularly capture weddings in Margaret River. The Margaret River region in Western Australia is famous for its award-winning wine, its national parks with dense forests, its beautiful coastlines and its rugged granite outcrops.
People are also drawn to Margaret River for the surf as it’s the point where the two oceans (South and Indian) meet. Many come for the thriving art scene, or the challenging hiking trails. Then there’s its organic and local food philosophy that respects the land and compliments perfectly with the thriving wine industry.
When I document weddings in Margaret River I’m always spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful backdrops in my images. Whether it’s vineyards, rugged coastline, forests, countryside or beautiful beaches. Margaret River has so much to offer.
Experienced Margaret River Wedding Photographer
So, with all this on offer it’s really not surprising that Margaret River has some simply stunning wedding venues. Like Margaret River’s Secret Garden, this prestigious wedding venue seamlessly blends classical European style with the unique beauty of the Australian bush.
Take in the ambience of the pristine peppermint forest, the sound of the bubbling Wilyup Brook and meander through wisteria draped walkways, flowering gardens, sweeping lawns, tranquil ponds and pose for a photograph in front of the beautiful waterfall. All of which come to together to provide you with the most Instagram-able wedding photos you can imagine.
One of the many things I love about shooting wedding photography at Margaret River’s Secret Garden is that it’s a wedding venue for all seasons, with nature providing a new colour palette and backdrop to go with each season.
Another favourite wedding venue with Margaret River wedding photographers is Aravina Estate. Perfect for wine lovers, weddings at Aravina Estate are a celebration of the local wine and food industries. Situated amongst rolling vineyards, sparkling lakes and perfectly manicured gardens, sits this stunning restaurant and hotel. When I shoot wedding photography at Aravina Estate I love capturing images of my couples wandering through the vineyards. Also, check out their luxurious chandelier lit Grand Chardonnay Reception room, or if you’re going for an epic wedding party. Their Garden Marquee overlooking the lake just can’t be beat.
For those looking for an outdoor wedding, then a wedding at Boranup Karri Forest is perfect. Saying ‘I do’ outdoors is increasing in popularity as outdoorsy no fuss couples look to get married in ways that truly reflect who they are and how they choose to live their lives. There’ s something really special about having your wedding ceremony amongst these 60m high towering karri trees. Add to that the forest floor carpeted with wildflowers, orchids and funghi. Native birds and the smell of eucalyptus ensure your wedding ceremony will be a feast for senses as well as for the eyes. It is truly a magical setting. When photographing weddings at Boranup Karri Forest, I love the way the sunlight streams through the trees and I work with it to create beautiful images (honestly, us Perth wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to talking about light!)
Creative wedding photography at Margaret River
The last Margaret River wedding venue I want to talk about is Rustico at Hay Shed Hill. If you’re looking for a rustic vineyard wedding in the Margaret River area, with outstanding Mediterranean tapas food then you’ve found it. The team at Rustico specialise in delivering weddings from 20 to 200 guests.
When I shoot wedding photography at Rustico at Hay Shed Hill, I love their private ‘amongst the vines’ wedding package as covers everything you could want or dream of for a Margaret River wedding. And their on trend industrial dining room with hanging greenery is stunning. Ceiling to floor windows bathe it in natural light (I’m banging on about light again! What did I tell you about Perth wedding photographers!) Another favourite of mine at Rustico is the magical fairy lit tree which always makes a fantastic backdrop in my images.
