Melbourne Pre Wedding Photographer
I’m Jacob

The person behind the lens
I always love returning to be a Melbourne pre wedding photographer. I mean what’s not to love. Capturing beautiful and timeless images of couples in and around the amazing city of Melbourne is always a joy.
Once ranked as the most liveable city in the world, Melbourne has a fantastic climate enjoying both mild winters and warm summers. It boasts beautiful beaches, amazing architecture, culture, arts, a rich history, amazing shopping and is a real magnet for foodies with everything from elegant fine dining to exciting street food. It’s no wonder that its Australia’s second most populated city. Who wouldn’t want to live there?
With all this on offer it’s no surprise that Melbourne is a popular destination for couples looking to have a pre wedding photoshoot.
"We were so fortunate to have our pre wedding shoot with Jacob.
We were nervous and a little apprehensive about doing an engagement shoot but Jacob was easy going, friendly, creative, professional, organised and kept us at ease throughout.
We’re so happy with how our photos turned out and I really can’t recommend him enough!"

Melbourne Pre Wedding Photography
Pre wedding photoshoots are a great idea. I know you think I’m bound to say that, but in my experience, I find they’re a great chance for you to get used to me photographing you before your wedding day.
Many couples are unsure of what to wear for pre wedding photography and my advice to you is to keep things simple, dress in weather appropriate clothes that you are comfortable in. If you’re still unsure look at old images of the two of you to and see how you’re dressed in the ones you like best. When it comes to locations choose the kind of places you would usually like to visit. That way I get the most relaxed and natural images possible of two people in love just enjoying one another’s company. Many couples use the images from their pre wedding photoshoot in their wedding stationery.
As a busy Melbourne wedding photographer, I know so many fantastic locations for a pre wedding photoshoot. I know the best time of day to visit to get the very best images. Below I have outlined some of my favourite locations for a pre wedding photoshoot in Melbourne.

Pre Wedding Locations in Melbourne

Mornington Peninsula
Just an hour’s drive from the centre of Melbourne you will find Mornington Peninsula. This beach fronted area has a European flavour combined with tons of Aussie charm.
Dine alfresco on local cuisine, explore the local cafes, boutique wineries and galleries or relax in a luxury spa. Mornington Peninsula offers everything you could want for a chilled out pre wedding photoshoot in a beautiful chilled out location.
When I capture pre wedding photography at Mornington Peninsula, I love capturing epic sunset images on the beach.
Carlton Gardens

One of CBD’s most iconic open spaces, Carlton Gardens and the Royal Exhibition Building’s Victorian splendour have seen them accredited World Heritage Site status.
And its no wonder why. These awe-inspiring gardens containing tree lined avenues, parterre beds, ornamental lakes and elaborate fountains give me endless beautiful backdrops in my images.
One of the many things I love about being a pre wedding photographer at Carlton Gardens is that its busy calendar of cultural events, offers something fresh and new to see and do every time I visit.

Fitzroy Gardens
Located in East Melbourne, Fitzroy Gardens is one of the city’s most historic and beautiful gardens.
The layout follows a classic Victorian era design, featuring pathways lined with magnificent elm trees, and a variety of flowers and ornamental shrubs and trees, which together with extensive lawns creates a diverse and layered landscape. The gardens contain several buildings and structures which are of architectural significance.
When I capture pre wedding photography at Fitzroy Gardens, I love capturing romantic images of my couples at the garden’s majestic Victorian rotunda.

Parliament House
Parliament House is without a doubt, one of the most iconic buildings in Melbourne. The meeting place of the parliament of Victorian. The first glimpse of it really takes your breath away as you are met with grand steps up to dramatic colonnades.
Inside there are a series of beautiful rooms, the library, the chambers and my favourite the vestibule that boasts the most magnificent tiled floor.
When I capture pre wedding photography at Parliament House, I like to keep things natural, like I’m just papping a couple in love enjoying some site seeing together. And with such stately interiors and exteriors, I’m spoilt for choice when it comes to grand backdrops in my images.
So, if you’re considering having a pre wedding photoshoot in Melbourne, I hope this has been helpful to you. And if you’re looking for an experienced Melbourne pre wedding photographer, feel free to get in touch.
I’d love to hear from you.
