As an award-winning Melbourne wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to spend lots of time working in Melbourne. This colourful and vibrant city is famous for its bustling laneways with their markets, art, cosy cafes and their coffee culture.

Sample world class restaurants, a thrilling sports calendar and visit fascinating museums. Go on tour to learn about the city's history, or head out to Federation Square the hub for everything going on in the city, it is awash with galleries, pop up bars, tasty street food and cultural exhibitions.

To escape the city bustle you can head one of the Melbourne’s many beaches dotted around Port Philip Bay. Calm and sheltered, each beach has its own quirks with everything from colourful bathing boxes to resident penguins!

If you’re planning you wedding in Melbourne, I can promise you this. You and your wedding guests won’t want to leave.

With all this to offer, Melbourne is also the perfect location for an engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot. As an experienced engagement and pre-wedding photographer, I always recommend a photoshoot before your wedding day. It’s a chance for the two of you to get used to being photographed by me and I can share handy hints and tips to help you to relax in front of the camera so that I can capture natural candid moments in my distinct documentary style.

Many of my pre-wedding photoshoot clients go on to use the images in their wedding stationery.

Metropolis Events

Melbourne Wedding Photographer

Boasting the most impressive views of the city Metropolis Events is located on the top level of Southgate Melbourne on the banks of the Yarra River. I love shooting Metropolis Events wedding photography because the sweeping views of the city skyline including its most famous landmarks, always make an amazing backdrop in my images.

Internally, Metropolis Events is just as awesome. A New York loft-style space featuring a 17-metre internal dome ceiling give it a majestic feel perfect for a wedding and the 9-metre-high windows throw tons of natural light into the space, which us Melbourne wedding photographers play with to create even more beautiful images.

Weddings at Metropolis Events are special because the space is so versatile giving couples the flexibility to have the wedding they want in their way. I also love the all-weather outdoor terrace as it’s the perfect space to capture candid images of my couples and their guests enjoying themselves.

So, if you’re looking for a truly awesome wedding venue in Melbourne that exudes luxury, style and sophistication with views to die for, then it has to be Metropolis Events.

Coombe Yarra Valley

Weddings at Coombe Yarra Valley are always beautiful. As a Melbourne wedding photographer I always love returning here. Built in 1909, it was once the home of the world-famous Australian opera singer, Dame Nellie Melba. Today it’s a premier winery, an award-winning restaurant and an art gallery. It also has seven acres of stunning gardens. All the ingredients you need for the perfect Melbourne wedding venue.

The gardens that were landscaped by Melba herself, have three beautiful locations to hold romantic outdoor wedding ceremonies. You can further personalise your ceremony space to suit your weddings style, size and budget.

Wedding receptions are held in the historic Clock Tower Restaurant that can seat up to 150 guests. The chefs at the award-winning Clock Tower Restaurant work with couples to create amazing bespoke wedding menus. For an evening celebration, The Clock Tower can accommodate up to 200 standing guests so is perfect for an epic wedding party. The wedding team at Coombe Yarra Valley are also experienced at creating beautiful small and elopement weddings.

Stones of the Yarra Valley

If you want a wedding day with 360-degree views of century old oak trees, vineyards and blue tinged mountains beyond then you should definitely take a look at Stones of the Yarra Valley. Historically rich Stones of the Yarra Valley offer so much versatility with three separate ceremony spaces, and two distinctively different reception areas that you can hire for exclusive use.

The first of the ceremony spaces is The Chapel which has high ceilings, stained glass windows and stunning views across the vineyard. Or you can choose to have a romantic outdoor ceremony under the canopy of their stunning Elm Tree or choose The View, a beautifully manicured lawn with stunning panoramic views of the countryside and Stones of the Yarra Valley’s historic buildings.

When it comes to wedding receptions the largest of the two is the beautifully restored 1860’s stone barn. With original internal features and floor to ceiling views of the vineyards it really is a stunning space for a wedding reception. With capacity to accommodate 65 to 200 guests you can enjoy a large wedding celebration. One of the many things I love about weddings at Stones of the Yarra Valley is how couples choose to decorated the barn. A blank canvas, the barn allows couples to just add their personalities to the space or they can choose to leave it as it is for a simple pared back look.

The second reception space is The Stables. Dating back to 1868, the historic stables were once the stable hands sleeping quarters and blacksmith rooms. Today, after a stunning conversion, they have been reimaged as an atmospheric events space that has retained all of its period character and is the perfect venue for more intimate wedding receptions of 40-63 guests.

Stones of the Yarra Valley weddings are given exclusive use of the grounds. Allowing us Melbourne wedding photographers to take amazing romantic portrait images of our couples around the beautiful gardens and vineyards.

So, if you looking to escape city life and enjoy an oasis of beauty and calm in a luxurious setting, then a wedding at Stones of the Yarra Valley could be the perfect wedding venue for you.
