Thailand Wedding Photographer

Thailand in South East Asia is known around the world for its tropical beaches, castaway islands, opulent royal palaces, colourful street markets and ornate spiritual temples. To the North you can explore the mountains and jungles abundant with tropical trees, plants and wildlife. And then of course there’s the world-famous cuisine.
Thailand has built a wedding industry over a number of years and has earned itself a reputation for affordable luxury weddings in a fascinating culture. Most couples who choose to get married in Thailand enjoy a luxury beach wedding, surrounded by coconut groves and the turquoise blue ocean. And there are so many amazing luxury wedding venues in Thailand offering beach weddings in Thailand.
Award winning Thailand wedding photographer

As an award-winning photographer, I can certainly see the appeal of getting married in Thailand. A destination wedding turns a wedding day into a wedding adventure. And it’s an adventure that you get to take your loved ones along with you. Taking your wedding from a few hours in a familiar setting to at least a few days of something exciting and new.
Some couples choose to get married in Thailand’s vibrant capital Bangkok. This large city is known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. An ultramodern cityscape sits alongside quiet canalside communities that are dotted along the boat-filled Chao Phraya River. I always love capturing wedding photography in Bangkok’s because its numerous grand palaces and sacred temples make the most fantastic backdrops in wedding photos.
Destination wedding photography is all about capturing all the emotions of a wedding alongside the traditions, rituals and stunning location of your chosen destination and blending them to tell the story of your wedding adventure with beautiful and timeless images.
Documentary style wedding photography in Thailand
Speaking as a documentary wedding photographer, Thailand is perfectly suited to my style of capturing the story of your wedding day naturally as it unfolds. Documentary wedding photography done properly is very emotive. It produces images that will not only transport you back to how you looked on your wedding day but will take you back to precisely how you felt in each and every moment that every photograph was taken.
Traditional Thai weddings follow the Buddhist faith and you can incorporate some of these traditions into your wedding day. Such as a water ceremony that involves the couple kneeling with their arms resting on a pillow whilst two bowls filled with water and flower petals are placed under their hands to capture the water blessing.
To add just a flavour of traditional Thai weddings the bride and groom can exchange flower garlands (as they do in Hawaii) as well as rings and you can choose to have traditional Thai dancers perform at your wedding or have a drum procession to lead you into your ceremony. Live performance at weddings in Thailand bring surprise and joy to your wedding day. And I capture these candid moments in a split second with beautiful and timeless images that tell the story of your wedding day.

Beautiful and creative wedding photography in Thailand
A destination wedding in Thailand combines an incredible honeymoon location with your wedding day. There will of course be loved ones who can’t be there with you, which makes it all the more important for you to have beautiful and timeless images of your wedding adventure to show them on your return.
When I shoot destination wedding photography, I always allow a couple of days either side of your wedding. This covers off any delays, climatises me to a new time zone, and gives me a chance to familiarise myself with the venue so that I can seek out all the best locations for wedding photos. I watch how the light interacts with the setting and see what time the sunsets, the time of the tides, and how quick light fades to darkness.
Before the day, I can capture your pre-wedding meal, or an informal BBQ or you can choose to have a little pre-wedding photoshoot off the beaten track a little. It’s a chance for you and your guests to get comfortable around me so that when it comes to your wedding day you’ll relax in front of the camera. This relaxed, friendly yet professional approach always results in candid and natural images that allow me to accurately and unobtrusively document your wedding day naturally as it unfolds in a storytelling way.
Pre-wedding and engagement photography in Thailand
Thailand is perfect for pre wedding and engagement photography. I get to capture my couples romantic strolling along a golden secluded beach, meandering through colourful street markets, embracing outside historic temples, or taking on the jungle.
Pre-wedding and engagement photography is a chance for you to express any concerns you have about being photographed and I can give you tips to help you to relax in front of the camera. My couples are always thrilled with the photographs and many use the images in their wedding stationery.
