Thailand Wedding Venues

Thailand Wedding Venues

Thailand in South East Asia is known around the world for its tropical beaches, castaway islands, opulent royal palaces, colourful street markets and ornate spiritual temples. To the North you can explore the mountains and jungles abundant with tropical trees, plants and wildlife. And then of course there’s the world-famous cuisine.

Thailand has built a wedding industry over a number of years and has earned itself a reputation for affordable luxury weddings in a fascinating culture. As an award-winning Thailand wedding photographer, I have worked at lots of amazing Thailand wedding venues. Here are some of my favourites

Wedding photography at Four Seasons Resort, Chiang Mai

Situated amongst the emerald rice fields of Northern Thailand, Four Seasons Resort, Chiang Mai, one of my favourite Thailand wedding venues. It is a sanctuary of well-being and a stunning location for a wedding in Thailand. Imagine saying ‘I do’ against a backdrop of rice fields and mountain views. Or enjoying a sunset ceremony in a beautiful tropical garden under an arch of flowers.

One of the many things I love about capturing wedding photography at Four Seasons Resort, Chiang Mai is that the way their weddings honour Thailand’s cultural traditions by having the option to have your wedding ceremonies led by a village elder and a blessing by nine monks.

And where better for a relaxing honeymoon in a simply stunning setting.

Phuket is the largest of the islands in Thailand and is characterised by dreamy beaches, and rainforested mountains. Consequently, it has lots of wedding venues one of which is Sri Panwa. Their Baba Nest rooftop bar is deemed to be the most luxurious rooftop bar in the world. It enjoys commanding and exclusive 360-degree views of the ocean and has to be one of the most Instagram-able wedding locations on the planet.

This five-star luxury retreat makes the perfect location for an utterly stylish wedding that all of your family and friends will be desperate for an invitation to.

When I capture wedding photography at Sri Panwa, I love taking sunset images of my couples on the Baba Nest Rooftop Bar, it literally feels like you’re on top of the world. Can you think of a better way to feel on your wedding day?

Wedding photography at The Conrad, Koh Samui

Located in the secluded hill along the south west tip of the island sits The Conrad, Koh Samui. With the beautiful ocean on one side and a canopy of rainforest on the other, this tropical paradise makes a spectacular location for a destination wedding in Thailand.

Sprawling over 25-acres of lush tropical foliage, that makes a stunning backdrop in wedding photos, this luxurious retreat is made up of freestanding villas resting on stilts of up to 12 metres off the ground.

For weddings they offer lots of flexibility to have your wedding done your way whether that’s an elopement for two or a lavish celebration for 200. You can choose to have your wedding ceremony barefoot on the soft white sand surrounded by coconut trees and the gentle sound of waves lapping the shore. Or take yourself high above the resort to enjoy stunning views of the azure sea, dazzling white beaches and lush jungles.

And with a number of indoor spaces available to host a wedding celebration you really do have everything in one place for your perfect destination wedding in Thailand.

If you’re looking for five-star modern luxury then you should take a look at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa. Located amidst the peaceful surroundings of Khao Lak with pristine white sand beaches and the azure waters of the Andaman Sea. You really feel like you’re in paradise.

With several different indoor and outdoor wedding spaces and nine different restaurants they can cater for every kind of celebration.

When I capture wedding photography at JW Marriott, Khao Lak, I love the elopement private dining experiences on the beach. The most perfect end to your elopement wedding in Thailand.

Wedding photography at Rayavadee, Krabi

Situated in the heart of Krabi’s beautiful Phranang Peninsula, an area renowned for its natural beauty and rich flora, fauna and marine life, the Rayavadee resort was built with a philosophy of keeping everything in balance with nature.

The accommodation discretely nestles between the trees so as not to spoil this beautiful landscape.

When it comes to weddings, the wedding team at Rayavadee, Krabi offer three distinctive different weddings. You can choose the Grotto which a striking ancient limestone cave that nestles under a cliff on the edge of beautiful Phranang Beach. It’s perfect for small weddings. Or you can choose a wedding ceremony on The Nam Mao Lawn which is a perfectly manicured open area of lawn surrounded by coconut palm trees for a real sense of paradise. The Nam Mao Lawn is ideal for weddings of 20 to 50 guests.

The wedding team also allow to you to create your own bespoke wedding from scratch, enabling you to choose between a traditional Thai or a Buddhist monk ceremony.

When I shoot wedding photography at Rayavadee, Krabi, I love evening receptions at The Grotto. As the sun goes down the trees light up to make this spectacular location even more magical.

Wedding photography at Anantara Layan, Phuket

Wedding photography at Anantara Layan Phuket is always a dream booking. They offer three unique environments for beautiful weddings. You can choose to get married on Layan beach that sees you glide down an aisle of petals to a gazebo in front of the ocean. For this you can have up to 150 guests.

For those looking for a more traditional ceremony the Layan Chapel is perfect. High ceilings, an all-white backdrop and intricately decorated wooden doors that open out onto an uninterrupted ocean vista. The Layan Chapel can accommodate up to 60 guests.

Or for total privacy, you can have your wedding in one of their Layan residences. In a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the Andaman Sea, you can hold a traditional blessing in Thai Sala (a traditional Thai open pavilion) and then celebrate by a pool dotted with floating candles. Ideal for up to 100 guests.

Whatever you opt for, the experienced wedding team pride themselves on creating beautiful weddings for couples covering everything from intimate elopements right through to grand and lavish celebrations.

So, if you’re thinking of having your wedding in Thailand, I hope this has been useful. These are just some of the beautiful wedding venues in Thailand but don’t just take my word for it. The best thing about planning a wedding is getting to visit gorgeous wedding venues in stunning locations so have fun with it.
