As a busy Melbourne Wedding Photographer, I get to work at the very best wedding venues in the area, and this is certainly the case when I return to capture weddings at The Burrow Daylesford.  Hannah and Troy fell in love with the venue after visiting, and knew instantly it was the perfect location for their wedding.

Planning A Wedding at The Burrow Daylesford

The Burrow Daylesford is a stunning wedding and events space, nestled in to the Wombat State Forest, just a stone’s throw away from Daylesford.  This contemporary space is a modern take on a barn style venue. So blends old world charm with modern design perfectly, managing to be both rustic and chic.  It has a cathedral ceiling, exposed hardwood trusses and a large stone fireplace.  All of which make amazing backdrops in my wedding photos.

Hannah and Troy went for a simple, elegant and unfussy style for their wedding.  Pared back always works best with beautiful modern venues like The Burrow Daylesford as they need no adornment.  Classic black and white was the theme!

The Big Day

Hannah looked amazing in her strapless dress that she designed herself and had made by Lainie Brookman. Her hair was styled in a loose up do and her make-up was immaculate, both courtesy of hair stylists and make-up artists from Blondie.

Troy and his grooms party looked dashing in traditional black tie (you can’t go wrong with black tie can you!) and the bridesmaids wore elegant dark green satin dresses.

Hannah is clearly very creative as she didn’t just design her dress for the day, she also made her flowers, menus and wedding decorations as well.

It’s always nice to meet and work with other professionals in the wedding industry, and this was the case working with Ray from YaYa Films who was there to capture the wedding film.

Now I love the little touches at weddings as they tell me something of my couple’s personalities.  At Hannah and Troy’s wedding I loved their approach to food.  They opted for tasty and easy to eat finger food and pizza and instead of having a wedding cake they had delicious cookies instead.  This really suited the laidback vibe of the wedding and their guests were clearly thrilled to be given such tasty treats.

Candid Moments at The Burrow

When documenting weddings at The Burrow Daylesford, I love taking images of my couples outside amongst the woodland.  If you catch the right time of day, a low golden light seeps through the trees creating a soft hue.  And at Hannah and Troy’s wedding, the playful personalities of the wedding party really suited my style of documentary wedding photography.  Here, take a look!

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, I really enjoyed capturing Hannah and Troy’s beautiful wedding at The Burrow Daylesford.  An effortlessly stylish and laidback wedding for this lovely couple.  I’ll leave the last words to Hannah and Troy here’s what they had to say about me.

“We absolutely loved having Jacob. He was so professional – and made us both very comfortable when taking pictures as well as making it fun. All of his images are amazing from party style – to candid – to posed. The way he uses light and contrast was definitely something that had us from the start”
