UWA Tropical Grove Wedding

I loved capturing Sarah and Reuben’s wedding at UWA Tropical Grove.  As an awarding winning wedding photographer , I’m lucky enough to frequently photograph weddings at UWA.  Sarah and Reuben chose the perfect venue for their outdoor wedding.

Surrounded by heritage listed buildings and lush, landscaped gardens, UWA offer two unique ceremony venues.  Both come with spectacular photographic opportunities.

Sarah looked amazing in the most elegant lace detail dress with a low back and kick out train at the bottom, it perfectly suited her petite frame and gave her the most exquisite silhouette in all of my images.  Her bridesmaids wore chic silk wrap dresses in a dusty pink.  The look was so elegant.

Reuben and his grooms party looked very smart in traditional black tie.

The ceremony was held in UWA’s Tropical Grove.  This intimate and lush garden comprises of a circle of palm trees around a sandy ceremonial space perfect for a wedding.  The wider garden boasts an amphitheatre, ponds, ancient trees, wildlife and terraced lawns.  It’s a really romantic setting for an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Sarah and Reuben said their vows at the foot of one of the gardens most ancient and beautiful trees.  Their guests were seated in front of them in rows of chairs on the perfectly manicured lawn.  It really was the most idyllic setting that was just perfect for my style of documentary wedding photography that just unobtrusively tells the story of weddings naturally as they unfold.

A Cactus Inspired Backyard Wedding Reception

After the ceremony there was the chance for a few images with the wedding party before I quickly whisked Sarah and Reuben away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the beautiful gardens and grounds of UWA.  I got some lovely images, here take a look!

The evening reception was held in Sarah and Reuben’s backyard though the term backyard doesn’t do justice to what they’ve done with it.  Their backyard looked simply amazing and was awash with cactuses.  On arrival, they were greeted with a fun confetti moment that produced one of my favourite images of the day.

Sarah and Reuben are very close to their families and had opted for an intimate celebration.  Evening celebrations started with the cutting of the most stylish looking wedding cake before Sarah and Reuben enjoyed their first dance.

And it was the sight of their family joining them in the dance that seemed like the perfect image to close the story of Sarah and Reuben’s gorgeous wedding day.

So, all that’s left to say is congratulations to Sarah and Reuben for getting married, and thank you for allowing me to be there to tell the story of it with beautiful and timeless images.

Working with lovely couples like Sarah and Reuben and getting to document stunning weddings at UWA Tropical Grove are just two of the things that make being a wedding photographer the best job in the world.
