I always love returning to be a UWA wedding photographer. It’s no wonder that UWA is one of Perth’s premier wedding venues. Jessica and Huy chose the perfect wedding venue for their wedding.
The University of Western Australia’s unique main campus sits right by Matilda Bay on the Swan River and is abundant with beautiful historically rich buildings set in magical gardens with sweeping lawns, ponds, fascinating architecture and ancient trees. It really is a truly romantic setting for a perfect wedding.
UWA offer great versatility allowing couples to have their wedding done their way. With four unique outdoor ceremony wedding locations, each one equally stunning and photogenic. A perk is also being able to have your bridal party photos on the grounds after the ceremony too! There really is no better location!
The wedding team at UWA are fully focused on ensuring they deliver you the wedding of your dreams. Nothing is ever too much trouble for these guys.
UWA offer two stunning options for garden weddings and Jessica and Huy chose to have their wedding in UWA’s beautiful sunken garden. This intimate amphitheatre with gardens, ponds and a terraced lawn is filled with striking architecture. Which is precisely why I love shooting UWA wedding photography, as I’m always given a never-ending supply of awesome backdrops in my images.
Experienced UWA Wedding Photographer
As an experienced UWA wedding photographer I can tell you that I’ve seen a lot of wedding dresses but Jessica’s dress was awesome. She looked stunning in a bespoke dress that she had designed in Vietnam by designer Phuong My. The details on it were exquisite, and it was clear that Jess loved her dress too as she looked so comfortable in it and smiled all day. (Us UWA wedding photographers do love a smiley bride!)
The wedding ceremony was an intimate and emotional affair with both Jessica and Huy being walked down the aisle by both sets of parents. It was a really touching moment. The wedding ceremony was very emotionally charged but Jessica and Huy did a great job of managing to hold it together to say their vows.
As a UWA wedding photographer, it’s always important for me to capture the emotions of the weddings I photograph. So, I was particularly pleased with one particular image of Huy and his mother straight after the ceremony that really encompassed the emotion of the day.
Flowers on the day looked amazing and were the clever creation of the team at Ebb and Fleur who created beautiful dried flower arrangements to compliment the natural environment of the sunken gardens.
After the ceremony I quickly took Jessica and Huy around the gardens to capture some gorgeous portrait images of them. And got some amazing and romantic images in both colour and black and white that would very much at home in a bridal magazine.
Jessica and Huy’s favourite image of the day is the image of them hand in hand, looking into each other’s’ eyes with the garden in the background and their closest friends and family looking on. It shows just how utterly stylish and serene their UWA wedding was.
A Stylish UWA Wedding
This was an uber stylish family friendly wedding at a simply stunning venue for Jessica and Huy. Congratulations to both of you and thank you for allowing me to tell the story of it with beautiful and timeless images that you can treasure for a lifetime.
Here’s what Jessica and Huy had to say about me:
“Where do we start! From the onset, Jacob has been fantastic. He made us very comfortable, and we could easily tell that we were on the same page – on both a professional and social level. Aside from his photography skills, he actually contributes to the day and makes it more fun for everyone. It wouldn’t have been the same without him.”
It goes without saying that UWA is one of Perth’s premier wedding venues. Between the sunken garden and the tropical grove you’re absolutely spoilt for choice! Why not take advantage of the spectacular grounds and have your bridal party photos here too!
If you’re getting married at UWA or another wedding venue in Perth and are looking for a UWA wedding photographer then feel free to get in touch.
I’d love to hear about your wedding plans.
